The maxi dress; that opposite of the mini. They can be very comfortable and great for when the weather warms up to wear with sandals or heels…or if you are really lucky, to walk barefoot along the beach in. It was a nice but windy day so I threw on a cardigan as the steady breeze made it a bit chilly for bare arms and it is a deep v-neck spaghetti strap dress. This maxi is a jersey knit which means excellent for packing. I have rolled this dress up a few times to take on get aways and it pops right out of my carry on bag ready to go!

This is an old short sleeved shift dress with pockets (I love all things with pockets! even my wedding dress had pockets) that I wore with a denim jacket. It is a very comfortable slip over your head style. At first I was concerned about how short it was but with encouragement from the spouse I wear it with chunky heels, wedges or sandals confidently and comfortably.
Shift or sheath…I get them confused sometimes but I believe that the shift dress has pretty much straight lines while the sheath has more shaping to it which means this happy yellow number is an empire waist sheath dress. Thank you Google! But back to the look here. It was a warm and sunny day for a change and I felt like wearing a dress that made me feel happy and spring like so I pulled this number out of the closet.
I love the bright yellow of this sun dress which I topped with a 3/4 sleeve cardigan, threw on my peep toe pumps and went out for lunch with the hubs.
Last weekend we were in the 80’s and it was glorious! Today I wake up to upper 40’s and cloudy skies. So it was back in the closet for my reliable old leather jacket. To lift my mood from the weather being grey and chilly again, I threw on a pearl necklace and my Tory Burch glitter ballet flats. These flats always make me feel like I could click my heels together and repeat – there’s no place like a warm beach!
And what’s not to like about a comfy pair of distressed boyfriend jeans with a long shirt on top; casual, comfortable and stylish. Plus, the jeans were purchased last year on clearance. Love sales!

I wanted to shoot a different look outside but nature had other plans – other snowy and cold plans the day I did this outfit! So it was just relax indoors in my flannel and Chucks instead. What I love most about this flannel shirt from the Gap, besides it being soft and comfy, is the long shirt tail in the back. I’ve worn this shirt with leggings and boots as well as with denim. The pants, from J Crew, are stretchy and comfy and can be dressed up or down. And as I’ve said before, when it’s a look you like and it works for you, get it in multiple colors if offered. I bought these in 5 colors (mostly on sale).
Now what can I say about the Chucks? Great shoe and I’m up to four pairs now.
A wrap by DVF that is. Every woman should have at least one of her wrap dresses in their closet because they are pretty timeless and fit any and every body so well..not to mention the silk jersey is great for traveling. The material packs well and barely wrinkles. And to top it off, this one has pockets!
