We’ve all had shoe lust! Don’t deny it, you know you have, and sometimes we’re fortunate enough to be able to satisfy that lust while other times… sigh. Budgetary restraints take charge. But now and then there are those moments when we hit the jackpot and find that ‘similar’ shoe at a bargain price that makes you do your happy dance like nobody is watching. In my case, I struck silver at DSW with this look alike of a Rebecca Minkoff loafer.
Yeah yeah sure sure they aren’t exactly alike but close enough and unlike the original price of $195-$225 (depending on what store you’re at) I got these Steve Madden loafers at DSW from the clearance section at 50% off their list price plus I had a $10 off coupon for belonging to their rewards program which gave me the final price of – wait for it – $32.22! BOOM! It pays to prowl those clearance racks for great finds. By the way – if you are into Converse sneakers they have some great summer ones in the clearance section now. You can thank me later.
Until next time ♥

Maxi dresses are or should be a staple in every woman’s closet. I purchased this dress from Banana Republic a few years ago and I love it! It’s a nice knit material that takes being rolled up and packed like a champ. The empire waistline is both classic and flattering as are the sleeves and the dress floats over your figure giving you the ideal silhouette. An interesting thing about this dress is that while it has a high low hem, instead of being the usual high in back low in front it’s longer in the front and back and comes up at the sides.
Floating is the word I’d use to describe how it looks when I walk in it and I’ve gotten compliments on the dress whenever I wear it. I came very close to wearing a floral headband for the photos since this dress has a bit of a 70’s vibe and all – I was even barefoot in the photos – which seems to be trending but I just couldn’t go there.
I would love to have this purse! Yes! It is priced as much as a pre-owned car at $5595 but oh how it called out to the photographer me. The shutter button opens the purse – how cool! My real Canon camera gave me the side eye so I only took pictures of it and with it. But when I win the lottery it is on!

Let me say this first! You are never ever too old for a tulle skirt and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Recently I had another birthday and to celebrate it I went back home to celebrate with friends and family. The party was at YaYa’s Euro Bistro in Chesterfield, Missouri where we had amazing food and service – I just wished it wasn’t so hot in our private room; a heat wave outside wasn’t helping much. I had my family and friends come and help me celebrate – I felt so blessed!
But lets get back to my party look shall we? The skirt was custom made (see details below), the shoes were on sale, the tank top is always at a ridiculously low price, and the clutch was a last minute run to the mall purchase as I forgot to pack the one I had intended on carrying. My nails actually matched the clutch; this was a happy coincidence. I could get used to wearing tulle skirts…
And if you believe that I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I was a model this past weekend for a digital art and fashion magazine which was shooting the designers of the future; designers from schools both local here in Columbus, Ohio and from other parts of the country. This whimsical skirt I’m wearing was designed by local designer Camille Witt. The eye wiggles but unfortunately I still cannot figure out how to upload the little video clip of me wiggling in it to make it move. You’ll just have to use your imagination
Afternoon late lunch with the hubs at our favorite seafood place in Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Fish Market. I was in a be comfortable mood but not as casual as denim and a tee so I put on these Bermuda shorts and a mans white button down with some white patent leather loafers. Besides this thing I have for pockets in everything 😉 I love white button downs and let me tell you, you can get a sharp name brand shirt in the men’s department at Marshall’s or TJMaxx for less than what you would pay for a woman’s button down at almost any store. Case in point, I got this crisp white shirt for $14.99!
By the way, we had mussels and ginger crusted salmon for our lunch with salads and a key lime pie for dessert. Yumminess!
Gingham is everywhere this year and who am I to complain! This skirt can be worn with a tee shirt, tank, or a white button down like I’m doing here. It is so comfy and light which is a good thing because it is summer and in some areas it is really hot! It’s gingham, it’s pleated and best of all – it has pockets!
Sometimes when you are wearing something that is fun you just let go! I was asked to twirl and I happily obliged.
Until next time ♥
