I remember getting new clothes for Easter when I was a child and being so excited to wear them. Today while I still like the idea of getting something new to wear, sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and say – “Have you seen what’s in your closet? Wear some of that!!!” So everything I wore for Easter was something I’ve had at least a couple of years and in the case of the clutch, over 10 years ago.
The shoes (Prada patent leather kitten heels) came from Saks on a serious after Christmas sale which was so good I got two pairs for less than the price of one. The dress is a Kate Spade shift dress which is on trend now with the floral print and ruffled sleeves; it came from a Kate Spade outlet store. The purse was an Ebay purchase and the fascinator came from Harrods in London when we traveled there a few years ago.
Just goes to show that sometimes what’s old is new again and some styles are timeless. Shop your closet! Hope your day was filled with joy.
It’s still hot out there and for a lunch date I wanted to wear something cool and comfortable. I purchased this tunic top from J.Crew a couple years ago and it works just great over these white distressed Banana Republic jeans. The little clutch bag/wristlet was a great buy from the Fossil Outlet. This bag is one of three that you can switch out merely by taking the wrist strap off and putting it on another bag. If you wish, you can just use the bag without the strap or put one of the bags in say a larger tote. Flexibility rules!
Until next time ♥

Afternoon late lunch with the hubs at our favorite seafood place in Columbus, Ohio – The Columbus Fish Market. I was in a be comfortable mood but not as casual as denim and a tee so I put on these Bermuda shorts and a mans white button down with some white patent leather loafers. Besides this thing I have for pockets in everything 😉 I love white button downs and let me tell you, you can get a sharp name brand shirt in the men’s department at Marshall’s or TJMaxx for less than what you would pay for a woman’s button down at almost any store. Case in point, I got this crisp white shirt for $14.99!
By the way, we had mussels and ginger crusted salmon for our lunch with salads and a key lime pie for dessert. Yumminess!
Shirt dresses are something you either love or hate and in the case of this linen one from Anthropologie it is love. It’s great for this hot weather plus it has pockets! I paired it with a pair of old Steve Madden wedges which have and continue to serve me well and my Louis Vuitton bag. But I will add these caveats about the dress: It’s linen so it wrinkles. The cut is a little wonky around the bust and arms and by that I mean if it fits your bust then it becomes a bit gappy around the arms and if it looks good around the arms then you get the dreaded button gap in the front right across the girls. We all know how to handle that, right 😉
The dress color is called raspberry which is one of those colors that depending on the lighting can be either a hot pink or reddish looking as you can see from the photos. It’s true color is closest to the hot pink(ish).
Well since I’m here at the mall I might as well go in and see what they’ve got on sale, right?
Until next time ♥
Dress – Anthropologie here comes in blue and a great white print
A cardigan can do more than just go over something else you are wearing. I didn’t want to wear the ubiquitous white shirt again with this full skirt and sling backs (another pair of easy to walk in Louboutins) so the idea that I had seen before to use a cardigan as a shirt instead came to mind. This look is perfect for the office especially if you work in one of those oh so cold refrigerated ones or any time you want to mix up your look some. One slight problem, if you are the least bit busty you may fall prey to the dreaded ‘gap’ between buttons; it happens, shirts too. Safety pin to the rescue, wear a cami underneath or if you are feeling daring, unbutton one more button! And remember, you can always do this look with the cardigan untucked or worn traditionally.
I revert to such a kid when wearing any dress or skirt I can twirl in like this one, hence the one pose. Hey! fashion can be fun too 😉
Until next time♥

It’s now unofficially the start of summer and we are all ready for warmer weather and what better thing to wear with warm weather than an off shoulder top and white jeans. Off shoulder tops are a great look for the season but they sometimes have a tendency to drift up. This top stays in place very well unless I raise my arms above shoulder height but let’s be honest, haven’t we all worn an item at one time or another that while wearing it we needed to straighten, adjust, smooth or do something like that to it?
A great thing about this top to me is that it is long; I really like that! That means it can be worn comfortably over shorts or jeans – be they high rise or not – half tucked or not tucked at all. I think the tucked look is less casual and a bit sexier.
When I first saw culottes as a “new” trend my first thoughts were I didn’t like them that much the last time around. So none for me. Time went on, I saw how they were being styled in stores and by those wearing them so I changed my mind from no way to maybe I should give it a try. As you can see, I tried and I liked!
