Cooler temperatures and overcast skies meant bring the sweaters back out. For those not familiar with the wildly famous British sci-fi television series Doctor Who, here is something to catch you up on it. I have been a loyal fan (aka Whovian) for a very long time now and when they came out with clothing it was a given that I had to have them! I purchased quite a few things Doctor Who besides this sweater at Hot Topic that day. On a side note, I’ve actually met five of the stars that have been on the show – happy fangirl 🙂
To compliment the sweater I wore a white button down shirt underneath, threw on a pair of flared jeans, some wedges and finally an umbrella as it started to rain. That’s spring for you!
Sometimes you just want to be comfortable as well as stylish and this BR chambray shirt and 7 for all Mankind bootcut jean outfit fit the bill for me. By the way, does anyone know the difference between flare and boot cut? Curious. I was going to wear a lighter colored shirt with the jeans but as I was going out to eat I just knew that if I wore a silk shirt or anything lighter in color that I would be a victim of Murphy’s Law and get it messy – never fails. So I went with this jewel embellished collar chambray shirt instead.
These jeans came ridiculously long and I had to have them hemmed which took away quite a bit of the boot cut but in order to keep some of that I had to leave them a bit long which means heels must be worn so that they don’t drag on the ground. I actually took these Prada clogs with me to the tailor to wear when they were marking off where to hem the jeans.
Wanting to stay causal I took my little Fendi bag with me. What I love about this bag is that you can wear it cross body or if you remove the long strap you can wear it as a handbag or even a clutch. I like multiple usage!
Last weekend we were in the 80’s and it was glorious! Today I wake up to upper 40’s and cloudy skies. So it was back in the closet for my reliable old leather jacket. To lift my mood from the weather being grey and chilly again, I threw on a pearl necklace and my Tory Burch glitter ballet flats. These flats always make me feel like I could click my heels together and repeat – there’s no place like a warm beach!
And what’s not to like about a comfy pair of distressed boyfriend jeans with a long shirt on top; casual, comfortable and stylish. Plus, the jeans were purchased last year on clearance. Love sales!
Until next time ♥

Overalls on adult women is a look that you either love or you don’t. I’ve had a few pair in my time but this style is a first for me. These Flea Market Flares from Madewell are as their name states – flares! And unlike the old overalls from the past, these are cut to hug a woman’s curves; not too tight not too loose. I love the silhouette these overalls create.
The amount of flare is just right for me but even at my average height, I have to wear wedges with these overalls else they will drag the ground. I could have them hemmed but that would take away part of the flare which kind of defeats the purpose, right? So with these it’s wedges or platforms for footwear. We were heading out on a “date” so instead of going casual with a tee shirt, I dressed the look up a bit with a white fitted mans shirt; sleeves rolled up and unbuttoned just so. And I’m almost never without my Fitbit HR on my wrist. Steps count no matter where I’m stepping to.
Until next time ♥

Let me sing the praises of the shift dress. It is one of those timeless items that every woman should have in her closet. They can hide a multitude of things you may want hidden but still be stylish. And in the case of going out to an Easter brunch as I was this day, you can eat to your hearts content without popping any buttons, loosening belts or having regrets about having worn constrictive undergarments 😉
By the way…never pose under a flowering Bradford Pear tree. They look pretty but do they ever stink!
Until next time ♥

I wanted to shoot a different look outside but nature had other plans – other snowy and cold plans the day I did this outfit! So it was just relax indoors in my flannel and Chucks instead. What I love most about this flannel shirt from the Gap, besides it being soft and comfy, is the long shirt tail in the back. I’ve worn this shirt with leggings and boots as well as with denim. The pants, from J Crew, are stretchy and comfy and can be dressed up or down. And as I’ve said before, when it’s a look you like and it works for you, get it in multiple colors if offered. I bought these in 5 colors (mostly on sale).
Now what can I say about the Chucks? Great shoe and I’m up to four pairs now.
After a slight detour with the sunglasses, I turned my attention to something I can use – handbags! Fendi’s designs can go from the wild and whimsical to so classic. I looked at two that could fall into both of those categories. The first one was the brown leather large Peekaboo with whip stitch detail (similar here) that can be worn with the shoulder strap or as a hand bag. It is a great handbag and can hold whatever you need but it was entirely too big for me.
Now this bag, the Demi Jour with color block Fendi (you can see the similar bag behind me and here)? I love the colors, the style and the size. This handbag is going on the list of potential anniversary presents.
But what was I wearing? The sweater I got a couple of years ago at BCBG. It is so comfy and warm and I can dress it up or down plus the message works. The shoes are Tory Burch ballet flats. When you find something that works get them in several colors, I have four pairs of these. The pants are the Minnie from JCrew also purchased a few years ago. I believe in getting some trending things but I think it is better to purchase more items that are timeless that you can change up with an occasional trendy item.
